Using Your MAP: A Blueprint to Decoding Your Success DNA
I use the acronym MAP to provide an engaging exploration of the steps which led to me decoding my success DNA, enabling me to create my values-driven career.
I use impactful storytelling techniques to illustrate how I navigated family and societal expectations to design a career which aligns with what is most important to me.
This inspired talk provides an insight into the story of a young woman who has learnt to create a career on her terms and outlines the steps for her audience to do the same.
About Afua
I am a freelance coach, consultant and educator who is committed to helping people build meaningful careers, defined on their own terms.
My professional background combines over 20 years of private, public and third sector experience in coaching, consulting, education and public speaking.
I care deeply about creating a values-driven career, based on my first hand experiences of being driven by this principle in my own career and helping others to learn how to do the same.
I hold a Law degree from the University of Cambridge and was the first student from my South London state school to attend Oxbridge in a decade. I am also an alumna of the inaugural 2003 Teach First leadership and development teacher training programme and spent years working as a teacher and leader in London schools.
In 2025, I launched a 1-1 coaching programme called Pivot and Progress, which helps professional women pivot into values-driven, financially sustainable freelance careers.
